The human body has amazing recuperative powers. However, injuries do not heal overnight as some people would like and the body needs time to heal. Sometimes muscles may never recover fully and patients are left with a permanent weakness and may mean they can no longer undertake the level or type of activity they once did. If this is the case, it is important to manage the injury buy having continuous treatment and allowing the muscles to recover as much as possible. It's not easy giving up the sport that you love and finding a type of exercise that allows the injury to repair in it's own time. but sometimes this can be the only solution.
Scar tissue forms after an injury to the normal collagen cells in the body. If you cut yourself, have surgery, or tear tissue in the body, scar tissue will develop. The development of scar tissue is part of the normal healing process in the body.
If you have surgical scar tissue or scar tissue formation from an injury, you may benefit from physical therapy to help reduce the scar. Your physical therapist can use various techniques, like massage, taping, or stretching, to decrease scar tissue adhesions and formations so you can restore normal functional mobility.
The practice of using touch as a healing method derives from customs and techniques rooted in ancient history. Civilizations in the East and West found that natural healing and massage could heal injuries, relieve pain, and prevent and cure illnesses. What’s more, it helped reduce stress and produce deep relaxation..
Having a regular body massage has long been proved to be benificial. You don't need to wait until something goes wrong. In fact, regular maintenance is better than cure. We maintain our cars so why not maintain our bodies. Regular massage has been proved to be benificial to both mind and body.
An Achilles tendon injury can happen to anyone, whether you’re an athlete or just going about your everyday life.
The Achilles tendon is the largest tendon in your body. It stretches from the bones of your heel to your calf muscles. You can feel it -- a springy band of tissue at the back of your ankle and above your heel. It lets you point your toes toward the floor and raise up on your tiptoes.
It’s common for this tendon to get injured. It can be mild or moderate and feel like a burning pain or stiffness in that part of your leg. If the pain is severe, your Achilles tendon may be partly torn or completely ruptured.
Achilles tendon injuries are common in people who do things where they quickly speed up, slow down, or pivot, such as:
Some aches and pains will usually go away with rest, However, It's best not to ignore them. They can get worse and some light massage will usually do the trick.
Taking pain killers such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen often mask the underlying problem and will give temporary relief. Some soft tissue problems often become worse if ingnored and if the symptoms persist its best to seek expert advise.
"I often get clients coming to me for sciatica. The sciatic nerve becomes trapped and needs to be eased. This can be done by applying pressure. The pain that sciatica causes can be very uncomfortable but after a few intensive treatments can be relieved. Some clients even feel better after one session. "
It happens a lot. I fix clients and then I don't see them for a while........
Of course, they usually phone and say how wonderful it is to be pain free, which is great for them and me.
Clients come to me for a variety of reasons. Sometimes a full body massage to help them relax or for something specific such as siatica, back pain or a sports injury.
What ever the reason. I'm happy to help and look forward to meeting you.
